Salvatore Sammartino; 63 years old of Antioch, IL passed away Friday June 22, 2012 at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital, Lake Forest, IL. He was born March 31, 1949 in Chicago, IL the son of the late John and Mabel (Mintonye) Sammartino, living in Zion, IL and Ingleside, IL before settling in Antioch in 1995. Salvatore was a member of the Chain of Lakes Community Bible Church, Lake Villa, IL, and enjoyed woodworking, keeping up his home and yard, and especially being with his family. Before his retirement due to his health, Salvatore had worked for many years as a carpenter for Zeigler Contractors, later working with his brother, before starting Sammartino &Co. On June 12, 1975 he married Dawn E. Sproul in Zion, IL.

Survivors include: his wife of 37 years Dawn; two daughters: Danielle (Joe) Princivalli of Genoa City, WI and Corissa (Todd) Diedrich of Harvard, IL; two grandchildren: Lauryn and Natalie Princivalli; a sister Patricia (Mike) Sammartino-Johnson of Round Lake Beach, IL, a brother John (Kathy)Sammartino of Branson, MO; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Patrick.

Memorial services will be held 7PM Tuesday June 26, 2012 at the Chain of Lakes Community Bible Church, 43 W. Grass Lake Rd. Lake Villa, IL 60046 , with visitation beginning at 5PM.
