HELEN C. BOGAERTS, 98 of Antioch, IL passed away peacefully June 21, 2012 at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, IL. She was born June 8, 1914 in Chicago the daughter of the late Kazimier and Teckla (Myszkowski) Grygiel. She lived a long and wonderful life, she was a hard worker and loved her children, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren and her great great grandson. Helen had a wonderful spring, getting to see her great great grandson Alex, she helped plant the flowers and even helped clean the garage. She had a Memorial Day picnic, had her hair done on Saturday before her birthday and went to the flea market on Sunday. Her favorite food was a Sam’s Club hot dog. She was a great lady and we will miss her very much. Helen moved to Antioch from Rogers Park in 1945 with her husband Charles whom she married on April 26, 1934 in Chicago. He died on May 13, 1997. She was a member of St. Peter Church and the A. A. R. P. in Antioch. Helen had worked as a custodian with her husband for a Jewish Temple in Rogers Park, did domestic work in Antioch for several people, also the Strang Funeral Home, Joe and Helen’s Resort, and Dr. Biron just to name a few.

She is survived by her daughter Charlene with whom she made her home; three grandchildren, Robin Halpaus, David (Sheryl) Bogaerts and Charles Bogaerts; five great grandchildren, Reed and Jason Bogaerts, Jennifer (Adam) Gentry, Kathleen Halpaus and D. J. (Christine) Halpaus; and her great great grandson Alexander Gentry. In addition to her husband Charles she was preceded in death by a son Leon and his wife Glenda, a brother Frank Grygiel, and two sisters Mary Betlejewski and Elsie Grygiel.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday June 25, 2012 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main Street, (Rte. 83), with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment will be in Mt.
