Ted Koziol, 90 years old of Antioch, IL passed away Sunday April 22, 2012 at St. Catherine’s Medical Center Campus, Pleasant Prairie, WI. He was born February 6, 1922 in Chicago the son of the late John and Kunegunda (Slonka) Koziol. Ted proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was involved in D-Day plus 14; he also served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. On August 24, 1954 he married Lottie Sowski and she preceded him in death October 7, 1996. Ted and his brothers Walter and Harry were instrumental in founding Charmglow Products in the 1960’s. Charmglow Products later became Modern Home Products, as it’s known today. Ted was currently the Chairman of the Board for Modern Home Products, working until age 89.
Survivors include his son, Tom (Victoria) of Lake Villa, IL and his daughter, Mary Lynn (Scott) Sedlack of Lindenhurst, IL; a granddaughter, Danielle; and many nieces and nephews who respected, adored, and loved him. In addition to his parents, and wife, Ted was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Walter.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM Friday, April 27, 2012 at St. Peter Church, 557 Lake St., Antioch, IL with interment of his ashes to follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Antioch. Visitation will be from 4-8PM Thursday at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83). INFO 847-395-4000.
